This project uses experimental video to capture and examine the gym as a space filled with gendered gazes and the commodification of the body. Its aim is to reflect on how women perceive and shape their bodies within fitness culture. The work records everyday scenes in the gym, paired with poetic text, offering a detailed observation of body movements. By focusing on these actions, the project highlights women’s interactions with their bodies during exercise, while also questioning and critiquing the societal standards of the “perfect” female body. In this context, the gym becomes a symbolic space that reflects the societal pressure and expectations placed on the “ideal” female body. At the same time, the project raises important questions about how to challenge these norms and move towards bodily autonomy.

The work invites viewers to think about how women can redefine their bodies and reclaim their strength in the face of gendered gazes.
